Assessment questions

1. What force is needed to accelerate an object 5m/s2 if the object has a mass of 10kg?
Force= Mass x Acceleration

Mass: 10kg Acceleration: 5m/s2   =     10x5= 50N

2. Carlos pushes a 3kg box with a force of 9N. The force of friction on the box is 3N in the opposite direction. What is the acceleration of the box?

9N- 3N= 6N   3kg x 6N = 18 m/s2
